1. Get JEE Main admit cards from Monday

PUNE: Students enrolled for the Central Board of Secondary Education's (CBSE) Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main, the qualifying test for admission to engineering degree courses, can download their admit cards from March 10.
The CBSE has issued a notice for the aspirants to download the admit card from the official website of the JEE Main. Candidates who have successful submitted their application forms attaining a 'Received' status on the website can download their admit cards.

2. Another court asks IIMs to explain score discrepancies

MUMBAI: The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court on Tuesday issued notices to IIM-Indore, Prometric and the ministry of human resource development seeking an explanation on the discrepancies in scores alleged by students. It is the fourth court in the country to issue notices to the IIMs in the case.
As the courts have sought explanations from the IIMs on the normalization process, several city students are looking forward to these cases.

3. 2,800 students in riot-hit districts drop out of UP Board exams

LUCKNOW: Saddam Hussain had to flee with his parents when their house was attacked and set afire by rioters during Muzaffarnagar clashes in September. He lost his most valuable possession in the arson - textbooks. Saddam, a class 12 student of government inter college in Muzaffarnagar's Fuguna village, could not appear in UP Board examinations which began on Monday.
Presently living in a relief camp near Fuguna, Saadam has lost all hopes of writing the intermediate exams. "A few days back I requested my school headmaster to allow me to appear in the exams. I said I will arrange the books and study but he denied permission saying I was not enrolled,'' Saddam told TOI.

4. IIM-A 'edupreneurs' plan wisdom village

AHMEDABAD: Three students from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) have resisted the lure of lucrative jobs to create what could be India's Silicon Valley for education.
The students have a grand vision to create 'Edupreneur Village' - a place where all the education entrepreneurs, technology, products and services can work together.

5. 1.3 lakh students appear on first day of UP Board exam

VARANASI: The first day of Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) Board examination saw more than one lakh 30 thousand students of class X and XII appearing at around 213 centres in the district on Monday.
According to the district inspector of school (DIOS) Chandrajeet Singh Yadav, barring the problem of some of the external invigilators failing to reach the examination centres, the first day of the examination went smoothly.

6. Midday meal scheme should not be teachers' responsibility: Bombay HC

MUMBAI: In a significant order, the Bombay high court has asked the Maharashtra Government not to impose the burden of managing midday meal scheme for students on teachers, calling it "non-educational work".
Putting such non-teaching responsibility on teachers would amount to violation of section 27 of the Education Act, a division bench headed by Justice Abhay Oka ruled on Thursday.

7. UPPCS 2012:Final Result Declared

Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) declared result of the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services Main Exam 2012 commonly called as UPPCS 2012. The UPPCS Main (Written) Exam 2012 was conducted from 20 December 2012 to 18 January 2013.
A total of 345 candidates have been successfully qualified the aforesaid examination. The first 03 candidates selected for the Deputy Collector post are Abhinav Ranjan Srivastava, Ayush Chaudhary and Dinesh.

8. IIM Indore announced admission notification for IPM 2014-19

Indian Institute of Management Indore invited applications for admission to five-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM). The eligible candidates can submit applications before 4 April 2014.

9. 300 UP medical college teachers resign protesting police action

Around 300 teachers of a medical college in Uttar Pradesh have resigned in the wake of agitation by junior doctors against the arrest of their colleagues, paralysing medical services.
Teachers gave their resignation to Director, Medical Education K K Gupta to protest against "barbaric" police action on 24 junior doctors and their subsequent arrest.

10. Top Western Universities seek academic tie-ups with Jamia Millia

The University of Heidelberg from Germany and Ecole Normale Superieure (ENS) from France have sought to enter into academic collaborations with Jamia Millia Islamia.
Two separate academic delegations called on the Vice Chancellor, Prof. S.M. Sajid to explore possibilities of tie-ups aimed at mutual strengthening of premiere institutions through MoUs.
