1. Quality missing in techical education: Pallam Raju

Dec 28. THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Union HRD minister Pallam Raju on Monday said the quality of technical education in the country should be improved and graduates should be given skill training to equip them meet requirements of industry.
Though the number of engineering graduates passing out annually in the country was high, majority of them were not "industry-ready" to meet the demands expected by their employers, Raju said, after inaugurating the new regional office of All India Council For Technical Education here.

2. IIT-KGP to set up research parks in Kolkata

Dec 28. KOLKATA: Indian Institute of Technology-Kharagpur (IIT-KGP) will expand its base here through research and innovation parks, an official release said on Monday.
The move aims at merging industry and academia as well as fostering international collaborative studies.
The hubs would give scope to young scientists from the institute to not only enhance their academic prospects but also boost their entrepreneurship skills, the release said.

3. IIT-Bombay plans new hostels for growing student population

Dec 29. MUMBAI: To accommodate the expanding student capacity, IIT-Bombay plans to build hostels and residential facilities for undergraduate, married and post-doctoral students. IIT-B will also soon set up a National Centre for Mathematics with Tata Institute of Fundamental Research.
These announcements were made during the annual Alumni Day on Sunday, when the class of 1988 also celebrated its silver jubilee reunionthis year, as a part of the function. "Today, IIT-B is the preferred destination for IIT-JEE toppers. The student strength at the institute has grown over the years; we now have about 3,700 undergraduate, 2,800 masters and 2,300 PhD students," said Devang Khakhar, director, IIT-B. "The work to establish a technology park at IIT-B will commence early next year."

4. Tripura to recruit over 4000 school teachers after 16 years

Dec 27. AGARTALA: The Tripura school education department has decided to appoint 4,606 primary school after 16 years, a senior minister said.
School education minister Tapan Chakrabarty said the decision to appoint 4606 teachers was taken at a meeting of the council of ministers recently.

5. Andhra Pradesh Board 10th Result 2014

The Andhra Pradesh SSC 2014 class 10th results are likely to be declared in the month of May 2014. The time table for theory examination schedule is already declared.
According to the Andhra Pradesh class 10th SSC board examination official time table for Academic, OSSC and Vocational candidates, the exams will begin from 27 March 2014, Thursday and conclude on 15 April 2014, Tuesday for both regular and private candidates. The theory time table is same for both the Telugu medium and English medium mode opted by students.

6. Andhra Pradesh Board 12th Result 2014

The Intermediate Public Examinations conducted by Board of Intermediate Education (BIE), Andhra Pradesh is likely to announce its results in April 2014.
The date-sheet/ Examination schedule for A.P. State Board intermediate Class XII examination has already been announced by BIE. As per the official time table the
Intermediate Public Examination is to be commenced from 12th March 2014 and will end on 29th March 2014.

7. UP Board 12th Result 2014

The Board of High School and Intermediate Education Uttar Pradesh, Allahabad (The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad) will most likely announce the UP Board 12th Result 2014 in the last week of the month of May 2014 or the first week of the month of June 2014. The students would be able to check out their results here, as and when that gets declared.
The Exam Schedule for UP Board Class 12 exams 2014 has already been released by the state board. As per the released schedule, the UP Board Exams for Class 12 will start from 03 March 2014 and will end on 04 April 2014, and the result of which is expected to be declared in the first week of June 2014, if follow the last year's pattern.

8. JEE (Main) 2014: Last Date Extended by CBSE

On receiving a request from Govt. of Madhya Pradesh and aspirants of JEE (Main) 2014, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the last date for filling up of online application form for the exam.
The request has been made due to the fact that the Govt. of Madhya Pradesh decided to participate in JEE (Main) after the start of process of application form. So, in view of this fact and in the interest of aspirants of JEE (Main) - 2014, the last date for filling up of online application form has been extended up to 06 January 2014.

9. Class X students Now Considering Board Exams over School based exams

Two years ago, seeing the Board exam stress on students, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) came to a decision of making class X board exam as optional, which then was chosen by only few students in the districts.
Previous exam session witnessed most city school students to have gone for the school-based exam, however, in this current exam session the students seemed to have clung back on to the CBSE board exam pattern.

10. IIM-A programme ranked number one globally

The Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM-A) has retained its number one position globally in Post-Graduate Programme in Agri-Business Management (PGP-ABM) in the Eduniversal Best Master's Ranking in Agribusiness/ Food Industry Management for 2013-14.
IIM-A's PGP-ABM had retained its number one position in the last two academic years (2011-12 and 2012-13) as well.
“IIMA's PGP-ABM finds a prominent place among other globally renowned programmes,” said IIM-A in its official release.
