1. Awards for India's Best College in their Respective Fields

The three engineering colleges belonging to western Tamil Nadu of districts Coimbatore, Erode and Salem were awarded for being finest in the streams of Computer Science and Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Electrical Engineering.
All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) presented the awards to the three colleges, in association with ministry of HRD.

2. PSEB Class 10 & Class 12 Private Semester System Result September Declared

The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) declared the Results for Class X and Class XII Private Semester System Exam conducted by the board in the month of September 2013.
The PSEB students who appeared in the Private Semester System exams for Matriculation and Senior Secondary classes, held in the month of September 2013, may now check out the result at the board's official website:

3. IIT-Kharagpur Look Out For Extra Participation from Gujarat Students

Students of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur are anticipating and seeking more participants from Gujarat State, while they are preparing to organize their yearly occurring social and cultural festival -'Spring Fest 2014'. This 55th edition of Spring Fest is scheduled to be held from 23 - 24 January 2014.
The organizing committee of Sprint Fest 2014 issued a Press release on the fest mentioning that Spring Fest is proud to be one of the oldest and major cultural and social college festivals of the country and has always observed active participation from students of Gujarat. The previous year as well students participated from various renowned colleges such as IIM Ahmedabad, Nirma University, M S University of Baroda, L D College of Engineering and SVNIT, Surat.

4. Indian enrolees continue to increase in 2013 for US graduate programmes

As per the new survey, Indian students enrolling themselves in US graduate schools marked 40% increase the foreign enrollment growth in US this year, whereas, the Chinese students slowed down by marking only 5% increase in enrolees.
This year's 40% increase in enrollment of Indians to US is observed as 1% extra from 2012 and 2% in 2011. The annual survey of 285 members of the Council of Graduate Schools (CGS) claimed it all.

5. Educational toys the next big thing in India

The knack Indian parents have for teaching their children is acting as a game-changer for educational toys, raising their demand by 15 percent year-on-year.

"In the coming days demand for educational toys will be more as the parents want more cerebral games for their children," Shyam Makhija, director, business development, Pegasus ToyKraft, told IANS.

"Educational toys have the potential to grow at around 15 percent year-on-year in the next five years."

6. Gujarat, Maharashtra and Odisha join JEE (Main) system

The University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman, Dr Ved Prakash has said that the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are no more than “glorified engineering colleges". Dr Prakash while emphasizing upon the importance of universities, said he was miffed at not receiving any research proposals for Singh-Obama initiative from the universities and the same had to be awarded to an IIT.
The UGC Chairman said since universities were not coming forward so the initiative had to be awarded to IIT ("IITs ko majboori mein dena pada") for execution in the wake of country's "prestige".


7. CMAT 2014 Exam Notification

The Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) conducted twice a year at national-level by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is used for admission to Management courses in 26 states in India. First launched in 2012, CMAT aimed to reduce the multiple individual institute entrance tests and centralize the admission process in management courses. Although a recent High Court ruling has made the CMAT no longer mandatory, an impressive 4,500+ Institutes admit students on basis of CMAT scores.

10. Ireland Emerges As New Higher Education Hub

Ireland has seen a 100 per cent growth in the number of Indian students in the September round of admissions this year as compared to last year, although the base has been very small, growing from an average of 1000 in 2012, as indicated by the Ambassador H.E., Feilim McLaughlin. The country is known as one of the largest education destinations for American students, and now it is hoping to forge a similar relationship with India.
